Shawn Edward Powell

This time last year Josh and I were in New York at the 9/11 Memorial. While we were there he took the first two pictures below and wrote this caption in his Instagram post...

"It's amazing, the place that I first walk up to at the memorial happens to be a person with the same last name as me who lost their life on 9/11. They say that you are never forgotten until someone says your name for the last time. Well, Shawn Edward Powell, you are not forgotten."

I happened to be in New York on Sept. 1, 2017, and took a picture next to the same name. The only difference is Josh's hand wasn't next to mine this year. It's crazy to me that just last year Josh and I were walking through the museum trying to find Shawn's name so we could learn more about him. Now I sit here hoping that there are more Josh's in the world who will want to know more about him and speak his name so he will never be forgotten. Shawn Edward Powell and William Joshua Powell, you both are not forgotten.
